Please fill out both waivers on the "waivers tab". You will NOT be able to participate without this being signed.
*Once you have filled out the waivers, you will receive an invite from Team Snap within 24 hours. There you will be able to view our practice schedule and reserve a seat.
What days and times do we practice?
Adults/Keiki: Mondays & Wednesdays: 6:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturdays: 9am - 11am (March - October) *no weekday practices once daylight savings time changes. Only Saturday practices will be held November - February.
Please arrive a little early to ensure canoes will be launched and you will get the most water time as possible.
What should you wear to practice?
Anything that you don't mind getting wet and you can move in! Any athletic/work out clothes is fine. We do not wear our shoes in the canoes as a sign of respect, however, water shoes are acceptable.
What should you bring to practice?
Yourself! And some water! Lokahi has paddles for you to use and life vests as well. Bring warm clothes to change into after practice, it can get a little cold at night. We have a locking shed where you can store your keys/phones.
What should I expect of a typical practice?
Sprint season is about to start in mid March. So we will be focusing on sprint drills, turns and endurance. It will be a fast paced work out, but you will have so much fun! In August, our long distance season begins and you can expect to go 8+ miles per practice. (You can bring snacks/energy bars, etc for those). All levels are welcome to any practice and we will show you technique on land and then you will be on the water for the practice times. Practices are about 2 hours, depending on what drills we are doing that day, there will be a few moments to rest.
Where do you meet?
We meet right next to the old Harbor Master's office at the Petaluma Marina. You'll see the large black and white canoes along the pathways. Come on by and say hello!
Want to just try us out?
No problem! Just make sure you sign BOTH waivers and come on down! No fee to try us out!
Do we practice in the rain?
Not normally. Yes, we know its a water sport, however, we will cancel if there is a heavy rain. Sign up to receive emails and texts so you will be in the know of when that happens.
